Tourism in Havant

The tourism sector in the borough of Havant is strong and vibrant, attracting more than £190 million in visitor spend with a workforce of more than 4,400 people. With Hayling Island's breathtaking coastline ideally suited to watersports (windsurfing was invented on the island in 1958), and the small town charm of coastal Emsworth, there is both considerable variety and opportunity in the borough's tourism offer.

With luxury resorts such as Warner's Sinah Warren, and holiday villages provided by Parkdean and Away Resorts, there is national recognition of the borough's tourism value. Cultural products include The Spring Arts and Heritage Centre - an acclaimed hub of theatrical productions, live music, talks, arts, crafts and other exhibitions.

Havant Borough Council is directly investing in the regeneration of Hayling seafront, which will not only enhance the existing tourism offer, but will also create new opportunity for further tourism development. The council is eager to talk to partners who want to be part of this exceptional opportunity.
